Evolutional Approach to Sex: The Question Is Not How, But Why?
There is no better way to mark Charles Darwin’s birth 200th anniversary than talking about sex, one of the most interesting opened questions in the field of evolutional biology. Why is sex, generally considered as reproduction based on interchange of genetic material, so common in nature, while asexual reproduction is extremely rare? Biological researches of the digital organisms – constantly mutating ‘benign’ computer viruses – bring us closer and closer to the answer. This lecture gives you opportunity to find out more about the newest achievements in experimental evolution and digital sex.
